Chrysler had a wild success on its hands when it launched the 300 sedan. The styling was distinctive, its performance was stellar, and it even carried respect as an entry-luxury model. But as the years rolled by, and as Chrysler’s financial problems mounted, the Chrysler 300 began to age very ungracefully as new sedans such as the stellar new Taurus caught the eyes of consumers.
With Chrysler’s financial struggles and subsequent bankruptcy, the replacement for the 300 sedan was stalled, but it was expected to finally arrive in early 2011. Luckily, new reports suggest that the sedan will arrive sooner than expected as Chrysler is rushing to get their flagship sedan into showrooms.
As the Chrysler 300 aged, its sales tumbled, falling behind sedans not only from Ford and GM, but also behind offerings from Japan and Korea. As a result, Chrysler is looking to expedite this absolutely crucial model as the company’s turnaround is implemented.
Although the next 300 is expected to be more luxurious than the current model, that doesn’t have Washington DC Lexus or other premium auto dealers worried. Buick is another brand trying to boost its luxury credentials, and while the brand is making headway, it’s certainly a slow process. Even Hyundai is appealing to more luxury car buyers one Hyundai dealer Washington DC believes it’s entirely possible for a brand to transform itself with a high-quality product.
Some sources suggest that the next-generation Chrysler 300 will be launched as early as November. However, at this time that date is purely speculation. The new model is also expected to feature Chrysler’s new Pentastar engine under the hood.
