New Compact Chrysler in the Works

by Chrysler in the News on October 30, 2008

Chrysler is busy developing a new compact car, based on the Hornet concept. First shown back at the 2006 Geneva Auto Show, Chrysler has said that they are widely working on the new hatchback as dealers like Auffenberg Chrysler Jeep are craving new compact models to fill their showrooms.

The new Chrysler Hornet is expected to make its way to dealers showrooms such as Birmingham Chrysler in 2010 with either a Chrysler or Dodge badge or both, and will likely be available in Europe and markets around the world in addition to the U.S. market. Chrysler, much like Ford and other automakers, is scrambling to produce attractive new compacts as more consumers want smaller and more efficient vehicles in lieu of trucks and SUVs, which dealers such as Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealers South Bend are excited to see. Recently, gas prices have surged past the $4 mark, and consumers have nearly abandoned gas-guzzling large vehicles all together.

By producing more compact vehicles, Chrysler can satisfy multiple needs says Reading Chrysler. First, they’ll help their image domestically and give consumers at Hartford Dodge Jeep and other dealers what they really want. Secondly, Chrysler won’t have to rely so much on the domestic market since compact vehicles are consistently strong sellers in global markets.

Currently, the smallest vehicle Chrysler offers is the Chrysler Sebring. which is a decent seller among Dodge Philadelphia PA dealers. Although Chrysler is working to bring this new compact to market as soon as possible, it is not known just yet whether the vehicle will be initially wearing a Chrysler logo or a Dodge logo, although some such as Chrysler dealers Midland Texas expect the vehicle to sport both logos. While the American automaker currently sells only 10 percent of its vehicles abroad a month, this new compact could be a crucial vehicle that can boost sales domestically and abroad.
