by kfuruta on March 23, 2010

A new line-up for Chrysler brings to the stage a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder Fully Integrated Robitized Engine (FIRE). Surely, a small car with a bold appearance to grab attention. The new Fiat 500 EV will be produced in Michigan and will be launched soon.
The Fiat 500 offers 100 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 95 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,250 rpm. Its engine reduces emissions, while improving fuel economy and power delivery. There are three main systems that power the 500 EV. First, the electric powertrain module, a lithium ion battery, and a control unit to manage power flows.
Chrysler is still on-the-go with many plans in the future for more electric vehicles. An electric version of this tiny car will go on sale in 2012. The U.S. Department of Energy will receive a grant up to $48 million as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Vehicle Electrification program. Chrysler plans to build 140 electric Dodge Ram pickups for a three year test.
When an electrified Fiat 500 finally hits the market, it have plenty of competition. One
Nissan dealer Boston expects the Nissan Leaf to dominate the EV market, thanks to its competitive price and of course its lack of emissions. Meanwhile,
Washington DC Chevrolet dealers are preparing for the launch of the Chevrolet Volt extended range EV, which will provide GM will the image of innovation and fuel-efficiency that the automaker desperately needs.
